My Fashion Don'ts - Ugg Boots

Ok I will apologise in advance to anyone who might be offended by this but we all have different opinions right ??? Uggs, people say the haters are just jealous because they can't afford to drop the €200 for a pair, but no I hate Uggs because they are ugly, hence the name. And I'm not the only one who has this view, when Frank Mortel (the man who first made the Uggs) brought them home his wife called them ugly so he then named them Uggs as a joke.

Uggs are completely shapeless and let's face it they don't flatter anyone. They look like you stuck your foot in a ball of dough. If you really have to wear these horrendous furry boots please only sport them at home or in the winter. For goodness sake, stop wearing your Uggs with your shorts and tank top in the middle of July! It makes no sense to have your feet stuffed in these sweaty sheepskin lumps.

And worst of all, the world and their mother owns a pair of Uggs. Every girl between the ages of 10 - 30 wears them and they look like utter clones of each other. Uggs at like one of these crazy footwear crazes just like crocs and converse. I get the comfort argument but if its so important wear them at home only please. After all, comfort is overrated, a little discomfort probably means your clothes fit and you're not wearing pyjamas.

Burn the Uggs !!! (Well not literally, they could always be used as slippers)

Please let me know what you think of the infamous furry boots dolls !

D&G Lace Dress

There is something incredibly feminine about lace and even more so when it's incorporated into a floaty LBD (Little Black Dress). It may sound incredibly cliché, but every woman does need at least one LBD in her closet. Lace can very easily look cheap but this dress looks anything but cheap. The D&G tiered lace and crepe mini dress below originally costs €1076, but the dress is now on sale for €430 on the Outnet.com

Because my budget doesn't exactly stretch to €430 I went searching for a cheaper alternative. The closest dress I could find is the one below from yesstyle.com. The resemblance between the two dresses is incredible, the only difference is this dress only costs €14. Of course you won't get the same quality of lace but on a teenagers budget price is more important.

Proenza Schouler Satchel

Every girl needs the perfect Satchel that can be thrown around and still look fabulous. Some call it the bag for a preppy princess but I see it more as a bag for a disorganised fashionista. one of the great satchels that has taken the world by storm in recent years is the Proenza Schouler Satchel. This satchel has been worn by many celebs including Emma Watson, Karlie Kloss and Blake Lively. The Proenza Schouler Satchel costs €1.670 and is available from net-a-porter.com.

Because I'm not paying over fifteen hundred for a bag that I plan to throw around I went looking for an alternative. I found this satchel on theiconic.com for only €46. This satchel has almost the same strap detailing as the Proenza Schouler Satchel. It may not be genuine leather but for the price difference I can settle.

Polka Dot Sweater

Summer may be just around the corner but lets face it here in Ireland we won't get much of a Summer will we ? This sweater is extremely versatile and can be worn all year round. its 100% cashmere so it will also be warm. The big polka dot is very cute and trendy in this Spring, I can it can be worn with jeans, leggings, black tulle skirt, red maxi, or put it over dresses. This Equipment cashmere sweater costs €280.12 and is available from shopbop.com.

This sweater below is from Forever 21 and costs €24. The Forever 21 sweater is 100% acrylic, so it is not as good quality as the Equipment sweater is. The monochrome polka dot pattern makes it incredibly wearable, it can be worn with virtually any colour.
