Erin Cox Jewellery

I recently received a beautiful pair of earrings from the people at Erin Cox Jewellery. On this blog I write about getting the Look4Less but I always stress my belief that we should pay for quality. Erin makes beautiful hammered and molten jewellery. All of her jewellery is handmade and most definitely are not anything you would find in your local jeweller. I love that Erin's jewellery is completely different and still very reasonable, price wise.

Erin studied at the prestigious Sir John Cass Department of Art at London Guildhall University where she learned the fundamental skills of jewellery making and silversmithing. This rigorous education in the traditional skills means that all of Erin’s work is made to the highest standards using only the highest quality materials. Erin has used her deep understanding of the traditional skills to further develop methods to bring colour, depth, and texture to her work.

The earrings that I received are the Amethyst Aura studs from the Serendipity collection. The gems are set in a molten sterling silver surround. I love that they are a stud and can be worn everyday yet are glamorous enough for evening wear too. These earrings cost £125 and considering they are handmade from quality materials this is a very good price. I have spent up to £30 on costume jewellery that is glass and I'm sure a lot of you have. So doesn't it make sense to pay the extra bit for a pair that will last a lifetime. These earrings at available here : http://erincox.co.uk/jewellery/item/gemstone-aura-studs

Here's a look at some of Erin's other pieces of jewellery.

Mini Cupid Ring - From £52

o2 Bubble Link Necklace - From: £285.00

Pearl Bracelet - From £72

The striking jewelry items are available in silver and gold, making them a versatile accessory piece for many types of personalities. When you order a piece of Erin's jewellery it is made for you and dispatched as soon as possible. Because all of the jewellery is made by hand and each piece is individually crafted, slight variation will occur. Erin offers jewellery re-modelling, prices starting from £250.

Rag & Bone Talia V-Neck Sweater Look4Less

I first noticed Rag & Bone‘s Talia V-Neck Sweater back in March. Little did I know that this super deep v-neck sweater would become a celebrity favourite and spring 2014 bestseller. So it’s no surprise that this highly sought after piece is being knocked off by a ton of high street stores. But when you take a look at the original sweater, there’s not much to it. It’s just a ribbed knit pullover with black and white stripes down the front and around the wrists. Why is it gaining this much popularity? I think it has something to do with the contrast of the preppy design and sexy neckline. This Rag & Bone sweater costs €310. How great does style blogger, Blair (Atlantic-Pacific) look in this sweater.

So if you don't want to spend over €300 on a nautical sweater, I have found the fabulous Look4Less below. The sweater below is the Eleonora V-neck jumper from Missguided and costs only 21.

Uner Boutique

I have a slight jewellery addiction. It's a weakness. I was recently sent a package from the fabulous Uner Boutique. Many of the items that you’ll find from Uner Boutique are really statement items – pieces that you can build an entire wardrobe around. The necklace I received, the Daisy necklace, really dresses up a plain sweater or a tee, but also works with a dressier outfit too.  It’s lightweight too – unlike other costume jewellery I’ve worn, thus making it easy to wear all day. I’ve seen similar type necklaces for almost double online. When I saw this necklace I immediately adored it. The chain is adjustable so it can be worn higher or lower, for whatever my outfit may need.

My Perfect #DayTripToChic Featuring Kildare Village Outlet

One of the most popular pieces from the Anya Hindmarch SS13 collection, the Bathurst bag. Model Olivia Palermo is a huge Anya fan and has already bagged herself one. Alexa Chung has also been seen out and about with her Bathurst. So you can imagine my shock when I saw this bag in the Anya Hindmarch store in Kildare Village Outlet.

The Anya Hindmarch Bathurst Bag is both ladylike and functional. It comes with two cross-body straps - one matching, one contrasting - so you can wear it in many different ways. The gusseted sides and roomy suede-lined interior will ensure you can fit in all the essentials, with room to spare. It also has labeled compartments on the inside for “lipstick”, “sunglasses”, and “phone”. I like a bag that organizes my things for me!

The Bathurst bag costs €1700, but as you can imagine with Kildare Village being and outlet, this bag cost me a fraction of that price. Certainly the best purchase I have made at Kildare Village and most definitely a #DayTripToChic.

Powder Pocket June Box Review

I was so excited when I heard about Ireland getting their own monthly beauty box…think Glossy box, except this one, Powder Pocket, is based in Ireland. In fact it was set up last year by a Connacht rugby player called Michael Swift, I know a rugby player and a beauty box.The lovely girls at Powder Pocket sent me the June box to review and I was quite impressed. The packaging of the June box was themed by the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

WHAT WAS IN THE BOX :

PIXY LIME BODY SCRUB CUBE - This exfoliating scrub smells so beautiful. It smells super refreshing. But even better, this lime body scrub cube left my skin soft to the touch, silky and smooth. The sweet smell and healing properties of apricot oil, enriched with vitamin E, moisturizes and enhances the skin's own regeneration system. It is also great for removing fake tan, or exfoliating before applying it.

DR. HAUSCHKA ALMOND SOOTHING BATH ESSENCE - With a delicate and uplifting scent, Almond Soothing Body Wash from Dr. Hauschka is a soothing solution for cleansing the skin. This bath essence quiets the mind, instilling feelings of warmth and comfort. I loved this product, but unfortunately I'm not much of a bath person so it won't be a future purchase.

SHISEIDO ADVANCED BODY CREATOR SUPER SLIMMING REDUCER - This dewy gel-cream provides slimming and powerful anti-cellulite effects…. With that kind of USP I just couldn't wait to give it a try. This light and very fragrant gel is intended for use on the entire body, with special emphasis placed on those areas that tend to accumulate cellulite; Shiseido claims that Advanced Body Creator can actually speed up the burning of adipose tissue as well as prevent new fat cells from forming in general throughout. This revitalising and cooling gel cream gives a slight tingling sensation when applied which is a confirmation that the product is really working. It felt a bit odd at first and I must confess I thought I was perhaps having some sort of reaction until I read all the information properly. Have yet to see any results but I will keep you posted.

THE BODY SHOP SUPER VOLUME MASCARA - It's a very wet mascara, takes its time drying, and you need to blink don't you? So, inevitably, you end up with a bit of the product on your face/eye lid. Not my favourite, it's an ok day time mascara but to be honest left my lashes a bit spidery for my liking. On the plus side there was also a voucher for free eyebrow threading in the body shop in the box. This I can't wait to use !

NIA INTENSIVE RESTORING MOISTURISER
- I was so excited to try this product after seeing it on Dragon's Den. This moisturiser is 100% natural and is a blend of butters, herbs and essential oils. It is also concentrated unlike the moisturisers you buy on the high street which are made up primarily of water, but surprisingly it is light in texture and soaks in easily. This product will definitely be a purchase for me in the future.

Powder Pocket starts at €12 a month (plus p&p); subscribe for six months for €60 (one box free) or get a year for €120 (two free boxes). www.powderpocket.com

Timberland 6 Inch Premium Work Boots Look4Less

I have always wanted a pair of Timberland 6 Inch Premium Work Boots, but at the same time I don't think they would fit in with my wardrobe.  Celebrities such as Rihanna and Khloe Kardashian have been spotted wearing these fab boots. These Timberland boots are available from schuh and cost €210. But do not fret, as usual i have a great Look4Less below for you.

I came across these Timberland dupes for under €60 at River Island today. Same look, much nicer price tag. These light brown suede worker boots are the footwear to invest in for festival season, winter and beyond.

The Downfall of Mulberry

Mulberry's strategy to bounce back from its disastrous financial year, in which pre-tax profits fell from £26 million to £14 million, is to release a range of bags in the critical £500 to £800 price range. Two weeks ago, Mulberry tentatively launched the Tessie collection with the view of generating more sales. Practical but still desirable, prices range between £495 and £695. The recently launched Tessie collection is proving popular but with the rebalancing of the product range expected to take time Mulberry said that like-for-like sales in the 10 weeks to June 7 were down by 15%.

It was a big mistake to follow other luxury brands in putting up prices to appeal to high end shoppers in the Middle East and China, thereby alienating its loyal English customer base. Mulberry's recent price increases have cheesed off its loyal customers. Let's be honest, Mulberry bags are no Chanel or Hermes bags. They are English, casual everyday bags. Mid-range bags that yummy mummies wore on the school run and stylish fashionistas like Alexa Chung wore running errands. But recently they have priced themselves out of this market. This was their major downfall. This new range of Tessie bags may cost between £500 and £800 but let's not forget, not too long ago you would have been about to get an illustrious Bayswater of Alexa for that price.

Creative director Emma Hill also resigned from the luxury handbag maker last year amid speculation over disagreements with Mr Guillon, who was formerly managing director of Hermes France. She brought in best selling designs such as the Alexa (Named after Alexa Chung) and the Del Rey (Named after the singer Lana Del Rey).

Coincidentally today, Mulberry launched their Summer Sale. The best sale I have ever seen(Even bought a pair of boots), Del Rey's, Primrose bags and Bayswaters all reduced, and not just the usual sale colours like orange and green but also classics like black and oak. Closing down sale possibly ?

Some of my picks from the sale...............

Céline Trio Bag Look4Less

If drugs were a cure for an addiction, then handbags would be mine. I swear Céline make the most fabulous bags on the planet. A massive price for a little bag, but this modern take on the crossbody bag makes the perfect addition to any "je-ne-sais-quoi" outfit that needs a pop of colour. Plus, all the pockets will help you keep organised. Celebs such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Katy Perry, Many Moore and Kourtney Kardashian are all lovers of this bag. The Céline Trio Bag costs €1500.

If that's not within your budget, there are some great alternatives on the market. The nearly identical look4less below is from Forever21 and costs €20.90. This bag is available in black, red and ivory.

Barcelona, Sweet Barca

What comes to your mind when you hear the word Barcelona? Maybe La Rambla. Maybe Gaudí. Or maybe La Sagrada Familia. But, every time I hear Barcelona, I have such a sweet feeling. My few days in Barcelona or Barca as we called it were the greatest few days I have had in a long time. Now a big part of my heart belongs to this Gaudí's city. Barcelona is not just about art and architecture, although that forms a huge part of it, it is the general atmosphere of the city that I will always remember. Barcelona has it all. Nice beaches, great history, breath-taking views, beautiful buildings and all the shops you can imagine.

"Those bags under our eyes, they're Prada"

I fell rather ungracefully seconds later.

The Posers

That bus trip (and that old lady, oh and the moose)

After taking hundreds of pictures and seeing all the incredible and historical sites our trip to Barcelona was a trip which we will remember for a lifetime.

Isabel Marant Carol Sandal Look4Less

I've always loved the studded "Carol" sandal by Isabel Marant since they were released. Because if the cult following this brand has whatever the French designer brings out on the market is almost instantly set to be a guaranteed success. This boho-chic summer sandal has become the "It" shoe of the season. I love these shoes but there is absolutely no way I could justify the huge €750 price tag that comes with them.

I won't be buying these shoes anytime soon so of course I am sharing with you the fabulous Look4Less that I have found. The Isabel Marant inspired sandals below are by Jeffrey Campbell. These sandals are almost an exact match. They are available in white and black leather. The Marant dupes below cost €144 and are available from Nasty Gal.
